Hello everyone,

BOX OFFICE: This Halloween weekend there was no wide major theatrical releases so “You Can See Everything” slipped past “Clayface” to be #1 at the domestic box office with $11.4 million.  That’s a 39% decline from its previous weekend although it added about 590 more screens.  “Clayface” added a few more screens but went down about 54% to $11 million.  Other than #1 and #2 there was no movie that made more than $9 million this past weekend.

The total domestic box office this past weekend was down almost 37% to $63.1 million which is the 3rd lowest weekend in 2026 and the lowest it’s been since February 8.

WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: “Clayface” ruled the worldwide box office this past weekend with a worldwide total of $83 million.  “Resident Evil” is still doing well worldwide (although it only made $2.5 million domestically this past weekend) passing a worldwide total of $400 million.

The total 2026 Worldwide Box Office total is now estimated to finish with $35.7 BILLION which is the best since 2019.

OTHER NEWS:

The spinoff movie “The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth” advance tickets went on sale this week playing in mostly IMAX screens (although Quentin Tarantino’s movie theaters will be showing it in 35mm) but Regal and Cinemark said they WON’T be playing it due to its limited exclusive theatrical window.  It’s scheduled to start playing on Netflix less than 1 month after it’s theatrical run starts.

Mark Wahlberg has said he’s given up hoping for “Hollywood 2.0” near Las Vegas Nevada after an effort to get tax credits approved toward building motion picture studios failed for a third time last year.  (It would have actually been “Hollywood 3.0 or 4.0 or 5.0 considering filming in places like Atlanta, Albuquerque, New York City, and countries around the world are attracting a lot of filming).

Today there was news that Disney was working on more layoffs eyeing up to 20% in cost savings.  They say the new round of layoffs will be with multiple departments at varying amounts.

LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR: John Oliver gave his very brief review of “You Can See Everything” on “Last Week Tonight” this past Sunday.

He said ““I haven’t seen someone dodge a question that shamelessly since I spent three hours gasping aloud at two complete lunatics who’ve never blinked once in their lives,” but then he went on to say “If you want to talk about that movie, please contact anyone who works here. It’s derailed our workflow to an unacceptable degree.” So, people that work for him don’t share his opinion.
