Hello everyone,

BOX OFFICE: The new DC movie “Clayface” was #1 with $24 million but the #2 movie “You Can See Everything” – which expanded to 2650 screens – made $19.5 million which is approx. $7350 per screen.  “Clayface” was on approx. 3450 screens and made approx. $6940 per screen.  So, “You Can See Everything” would have been #1 if it was on a few more screens.  #3 was the new animated movie “Wildwood” with $12.2 million.  Last weeks #1 “Street Fighter” fell over 70% and made $8.6 million for 4th.  Another new movie “Wicker” was 5th with $5.745 million on just 1500 screens (per screen average was higher than “Street Fighter”).

Since “Street Fighter” is from Paramount and “Clayface” is from Warner Bros/DC that means that Skydance has had the #1 movie both weekends since the merger.

Overall domestic box office was down just slightly – 2.5% to $100.3 million.

WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: “Clayface” was also the #1 movie worldwide with a worldwide total of $43 million (so Skydance also had 2 #1 worldwide movies in a row and for the worldwide box office).  Skydance also had the #1 and #2 movie worldwide this past weekend since “Street Fighter” was the #2 movie worldwide with a global total of $76.3 million.

OTHER NEWS:

Skydance has begun offering voluntary buyouts to reduce their staff at the two studios.  They also just announced that they will require all employees to go back to the office full time – Paramount was full time in office, but Warner Bros was 3 days in office.

The rumors are that the final casting for the person to play the next James Bond are happening now.  Rumors are that 3 of the names are Jack Lowden (currently stars in the series “Slow Horses”), Callum Turner (recently starred in “One Night Only”), and Josh O’Connor (recently starred in “Disclosure Day”).

LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR: After a Quentin Tarantino interview during AFI this past weekend, they showed the first 17 minutes of the upcoming “The Misadventures of Cliff Booth” which Tarantino wrote and David Fincher directed.

According to reports, Cliff Booth worked at the “New Beverly Cinema”…which Tarantino now owns.
