Little bit of movie news…
- Warner Bros just named director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran to be co-head of DC Films. Picking James Gunn is slightly odd since a few years ago he was fired by Marvel Studios due to some controversial tweets he made several years before. Then Marvel Studios re-hired him and he directed the upcoming “Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special” (which premieres on Disney+ in about a month) AND “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” (coming next year).
- Rihanna just released a new song that’s part of the “Black Panther Wakanda Forever” soundtrack. So, they should just give her the Oscar now. In recent years, the Oscar for best song has gone to popular artists including Bille Eilish, Elton John, and Adele so Rihanna is the now the favorite to win the Oscar next March (unless “Avatar 2” or another movie has a bigger hit song).
- Cate Blanchett is apparently doing everything she can to promote her new movie “Tár”, even guest starring on “Hot Ones” YouTube show. They don’t often have an Oscar winner on that show. If you don’t know, the show is an interview show where the guest also eats hot wings that get hotter and hotter as the show goes on. If you want to watch the video check the link below.
