‘Gravity’ 3D Puts 35+ Demo In Theater Seats

Warner’s ‘Gravity’ keeps its hot streak alive as more and more revenue comes in from 3D ticket sales. It’s interesting to note that the Warner exec in the Variety article attributed the rise in box office numbers to older people liking 3D and younger people liking the movie.

So, basically, more people young and old liked the movie, which is why it’s doing better at the box office. Plus, it has great reviews. Correlation…causation…it’s all the same when it comes to figuring out movie going audiences apparently. Just once I want to see an executive summary of why a film is doing better / worse than expectations summed up as “who the hell knows, it just is.”

I won’t hold my breath. Check out the story at Variety.
