The Weinstein Company opened ‘Salinger’ (dir. Shane Solerno) in a couple of markets after a strong premiere at the Telluride Film Festival. It will be interesting to see what kind of legs the doc can garner as the Weinsteins move it out into more theaters. Perhaps this film will get the same legs under it as J.D. Salinger’s most well know book “The Catcher In The Rye” did, or has rather, selling upwards of 10 million copies through the years.
I don’t know about you, but I think the damn book is overrated. Hopefully the doc about the man behind it won’t be. But, with Solerno’s capable hands on the wheel, it should be a pretty solid performer.
