Well, if there’s one thing Disney does well, it is their marketing machine. I’d go so far as to say that the studio the mouse built places a very distant secondary priority on the actual films they make. A cursory glance at their release slate shows the transparent nature of their creative focus.
Well, now that they have all the juicy marketing muscle behind a team that actually makes films people want to see, the results should be pretty interesting. Not that Paramount was a slouch, but if you spend any time on either lot, you’ll immediately get the feeling that Paramount is still a studio first and foremost.
