Ah, the studio brass in a quandary over slides in profits. Fewer movies? That sounds a bit disingenuous to me. Though it’s always impossible to tell, I always had a sneaking suspicion that the Jack Reacher franchise was going to be a dud. The thing that’s interesting about the article is the mention of sliding home video revenue.
Yes, home video revenue is sliding. But, that writing has been loud and clear on the wall for the better part of a decade. Distribution centric is a dead model, accessibility and premium content is the way forward in my mind.
