The winners are…The Golden Globes television ad revenue, ratings and overall impact on the world in general. Thanks to Mr. Gervais’ wonderful skewing of the whole affair.
Watching the best of the best squirm, trying to figure out how to appear relaxed, dignified, mortified and all around “likeable” all while not busting a smile was just too much fun. Except for Bob DeNiro of course. Still got a little street in him yet, I guess.
Any talk of bad blood is pure hype, and the Globes know it. Gervais put the “gold” in “Golden” this year.
