I was one of many voices lambasting Sundance and their attempt at returning to its “roots” with the incorporation of the “Next” category. The entries either seemed tepid or still so far out of the “norm” for the ultra low budget crowd.
But, they are Sundance after all. They were bound to figure it out sooner or later and it appears they may have. Pretty good looking films across the board.
It’s almost like they programmed a few of these festivals before.
