Hello everyone,
BOX OFFICE: “Avatar: Fire and Ash” continues to dominate the domestic box office making almost double the new release at #2. It made $21.5 million and its domestic total in closing in on $350 million. However, the box office numbers keep declining every weekend. It’s down 48% from the previous weekends box office. #2 was the new thriller “Primate” which made $11.1 million. It just barely made more than “The Housemaid” which made $10.9 million. Last weeks, #2 “Zootopia 2” went down significantly to #4 with $10 million (probably because the kids went back to school). The other new release “Greenland 2: Migration” was #5 with $8.4 million.
Overall, the domestic weekend declined another 30% – with the previous weekends decline it’s down over 50% from the final weekend on 2025. The domestic total was $93.6 million.
WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: “Avatar: Fire and Ash” also dominated the foreign box office making $87 million in foreign countries. It’s doing really well making approx. $110 million worldwide but it’s current global total is $1.231 billion. If it wants to pass $2 billion like the other 2 movies it will need to make at least $100 million for the next 7 weeks – which I doubt. I think it will end around $1.5 billion which means it’ll be the first Avatar movie that wasn’t the #1 movie of the year (“Zootopia 2” is at $1.65 billion and climbing and “Ne Zha 2” is at $2.259 billion.
OTHER NEWS:

LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR: To promote “Greenland 2 Migration” they had 3D sidewalk artwork at a few locations.

It’s pretty funny to watch people walk over it without noticing it. You can see the video of the above photo at this link.
