- The total Domestic box office for 2025 is estimated at $8.87 million which equals 780 million people went to the movies. That attendance is down from 2024s attendance of $820 million. The higher total box office is attributed higher ticket prices. Tickets were an average of $13.29 which is up 5.7% from 2024. Premium format tickets were $17.69 which is up 4.9% from 2024.
- The Global Box Office total is estimated at $33.5 BILLION which is 12% higher than 2024. If you remove the $2 billion (made ONLY in China) for “Ne Zha 2” (some people are calling “a unique phenomenon”) it’s still up 8% from 2024. International box office is up 12% from the previous year without China. Including China, it’s up about 16%.
- Walt Disney Studios made $6.5 billion at the global box office which is the highest any studio has made since the pandemic started. Disney has 3 of the 4 BILLION DOLLAR movies of 2025.
- China’s total box office was $7.47 billion in 2025 which is up 20% from the previous year but without the $2 billion “Ne Zha 2“, it’s DOWN from 2023 with $5.2 billion. “Zootopia 2” just became the all-time highest box office for an American movie in China with $601.6 million (just slipped past “Avengers Endgame”).
