Hello everyone,
This post is dedicated to the great ROB REINER who was killed in his house two nights ago (December 14).

BOX OFFICE: A slow box office weekend as theaters prepare for the expected blockbuster “Avatar: Fire and Ash” next weekend. “Zootopia 2” moved back to the #1 position with $25.8 million on its 3rd weekend after falling to #2 the previous weekend. Last weekends #1 movie “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” slipped almost 70% to $19.4 million taking the #2 position. “Zootopia 2” is catching up to “Wicked For Good” – which was #3 this weekend with $8.5 million. “Zootopia 2” domestic total is now almost $260 million (#9 on the top domestic movies of 2025), and “Wicked for Good” is at $340 million (#5 on the top domestic movies of 2025).
The new release “Ella McCay” did poorly making $2 million. It was almost beaten by the re-release of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” which made $1.9 million (“Ella McCay” was on 2500 screens making $808 per screen, “Grinch” was on 2250 screens and made $848 per screen).
Total domestic box office for this past weekend was down 50% to $76.4 million.
WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: Unlike the domestic box office, “Zootopia 2” has zoomed ahead of “Wicked for Good” at the worldwide box office. “Zootopia 2” is now one of only 3 movies to make over $1 BILLION worldwide this year. (the other 2 are “Ne Zha 2” at #1 and “Lilo and Stitch” at #3). Its total is currently $1.137 BILLION. “Wicked for Good” is at $468 million worldwide.
OTHER NEWS:
The fight over Warner Bros Discovery continues. Ted Sarandos at Netflix tries to reassure that Netflix has no intention of changing Warner Bros. He says “We didn’t buy this company to destroy that value”. Meanwhile, Paramount has said that after it buys Warner Bros Discovery it promises OVER 30 MOVIES theatrically every year from the combined studios.
LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR:

…especially since he made that “disease” up!!!!!!!!!!!
