Hello everyone,

BOX OFFICE: On the weekend after Thanksgiving, “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” made an impressive $64 million.  That’s the biggest opening for the post-Thanksgiving weekend ever, biggest December horror movie opening, and the second biggest horror movie opening of 2025 (after “Conjuring: The Last Rights”)  Last weeks #1 “Zootopia 2” sunk about 57% but still made a decent $43 million.  “Wicked For Good” sank another 72% on its 3rd weekend making $17 million but it’s domestic total is now approaching $300 million.

Overall, the total domestic box office was down 17% from last weekend’s 3 day with $156 million.  The domestic total for 2025 just passed $8 BILLION TOTAL.  If it passes last years total of $8.57 billion depends on the success of “Avatar: Fire and Ash”.  A lot of people are predicting a total over $9 BILLION by years end.

WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: After last weekends record breaking opening weekend, “Zootopia 2” is already at $918 million worldwide which makes it #4 on the worldwide box office for 2025 and many expect it to pass $1 billion before the year is done.  Meanwhile, “Wicked for Good” is over “Zootopia 2” on the domestic box office charts (almost $300 million while “Zootopia 2” is at $220 million) but it’s #13 on the worldwide box office charts with $440 million.

After the announced a deal for Netflix to purchase Warner Bros last week, almost everyone has spoken against it including the US Congress, several unions in the US and Europe, theater owners in the US and Europe, and several others although Neflix keeps saying that nothing will change once the merger is completed (in approx. 18 months – mid 2027). Then Paramount announced it will try for a hostile takeover of Warner Bros instead of Netflix buying them.  However, the same people are opposed to that too.
