Hello everyone,
BOX OFFICE: “Predator: Badlands” helped this weekend’s box office making $40 million which is a franchise record. Other than that, the domestic weekend was even lighter than last week with “Regretting You” coming in at #2 with just $6.6 million. Some award hopefuls were released this past weekend. The one that did the best was “Sarah’s Oil” which made $4.2 million in approx. 2400 screens. “Nuremberg” was #5 with $3.8 million on 1800 screens. Other movies didn’t do so well including the Jennifer Lawrence/Robert Pattinson movie “Die My Love” coming in at #8 with $2.6 million on almost 2000 screens and the Sydney Sweeny movie “Christy” coming in at #11 making #1.3 million on almost 2,200 screens (a whopping $600 per screen).
Overall, the domestic box office was up 42% – mostly thanks to “Predator Badlands”.
WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: “Predator: Badlands” also made a franchise best $80 million worldwide. Last week I said that “One Battle After Another” was approaching $200 million – well it’s not there yet. After this past weekend it’s global total is $196 million.
OTHER NEWS:
Paramount hasn’t been releasing many theatrical movies this year. There’s only 2 more coming out in 2025 – “The Running Man” next weekend and “The Spongebob Movie: Search for Squarepants” in December, but the new owners recently announced that the total movie releases will go up to “at least 15” starting next year.
Warner Bros recently announced that “Gremlins 3” will be released in approx. 2 years in Nov 2027. Spielberg will be executive producing again, and the original writer Chris Columbus will be co-writing, directing, and producing the new movie.
LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR:

It took 40 years for Michael J Fox to think about speaking to Eric Stoltz, who was first cast in “Back to the Future” according to Michaels new biography.
