Hello everyone,
BOX OFFICE: The final weekend of October (which unfortunately isn’t Halloween weekend) was a little better than any other weekend in October except the first one (when the Taylor Swift movie opened). The number 1 movie was the animated movie from Sony Pictures/Crunchroll “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” with $18 million. #2 was “Regretting You” with $13 million. The new Springsteen biopic “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” got mixed reviews and apparently only attracted big Springsteen fans. It was #4 with almost $9 million. The biggest per screen average was the new movie from director Yorgos Lanthimos – “Bugonia” – which made $41.5 thousand on each of it’s 17 theaters foe a total of $706 thousand.
The total domestic box office was up 13.5% with $75.6 total.
WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” (which was already playing in some foreign countries before this weekend), rose past a worldwide total of $100 million this weekend. It’s currently at $108 million worldwide. The Springsteen movie also failed to impress in foreign countries making only $7 million internationally for a global total of a little over $16 million.
OTHER NEWS:
Cinemark just announced it will be installing 17 70mm/IMAX projectors in its domestic theaters before Christopher Nolan’s movie opens next summer. The theaters will also play digital IMAX for other movies.
According to reports, Paramount announced today that they would be laying off 1000 people this coming Wednesday Oct 29, with an additional 1000 being laid off sometime in the future.
Speaking of Paramount, since last week they have now made a total of 3 offers to buy Warner Bros so far but they haven’t come to an agreement yet. Meanwhile, Warner Bros announced that they are for sale as a whole or in parts and several companies are interested in the whole company or parts of it – including possibly Netflix (although they previously said they weren’t interested).
LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR:

His actual quote to a reporter was ““If you’re a professional thief like I am, I was very proud of those guys,” I’m not sure if playing a thief in the “Oceans 11” trilogy, “Out of Sight”, and some other movies (I think) makes him a “professional thief”, but if he is I would think the Paris police would like to speak to him.
