Hello everyone,
BOX OFFICE: Fairly slow weekend with the horror sequel “The Black Phone 2” topping the box office with $27.3 million. #2 was “Tron Ares” stumbling two thirds lower than it’s 3 day opening weekend to make only $11 million. Another new movie – the comedy “Good Fortune” came in at 3rd with $6.1 million.
The total domestic weekend was down 5% from last week’s 3-day weekend making $66.6 million which is the lowest post-summer weekend so far.
WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: “The Black Phone 2” didn’t do as well worldwide with a global total of $42 million (two thirds of that is from the domestic box office). After two weeks “Tron Ares” managed to slip past $100 million worldwide and is now at about $103 million. “One Battle After Another” is still doing well internationally with a worldwide total of $163 million with only $61 million coming from the domestic box office.
OTHER NEWS:
It looks like Paramount isn’t going to buy Warner Bros yet because their first offer last week was reportedly “too low” but they’re still negotiating.
LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR: Walking through Westwood Village sort of feels like a trip back in time….

One movie theater is showing “The Blue Lagoon” and the other is showing “The Shining”????
However, the reality is that both movie theaters are STILL CLOSED. The marquees are probably for a movie or TV show filming in front of the movie theaters. Maybe it’s “The Adventures of Cliff Booth” the to “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, which has a scene with Margot Robbie in front of those two movie theaters.
