Hello everyone,

Although some people worked on Indigenous People Day (or Columbus Day) – it’s considered a 3-day holiday weekend.

BOX OFFICE: Some people were predicting “Tron: Ares” would make up to $90 million over the holiday day weekend, it actually didn’t make anywhere near that.  It was the #1 movie with $36.8 million (holiday) and $33.2 million (weekend).  Second was the original movie “Roofman” making $9.2 million (holiday) and $8.1 million (weekend).  #3 was “One Battle After Another” – which lost most of the large screen IMAX screens to “Tron: Ares” – going down almost 40% with $6.8 (weekend) and $7.9 million (holiday).

Overall, the total domestic box office was about $70 million (3-day) which is the 7th lowest weekend at the domestic box office in 2025 so far.  The only weekends lower were 1 weekend at the end of August and the slow weekends of Jan/Feb/Mar.  The total box office for the holiday weekend wasn’t much larger at $79.5 million which is the lowest holiday weekend of 2025 so far.

WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: Internationally, “Tron Ares” didn’t do much better making a worldwide total of $60.5 million.  In other international news, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle” is now the 5th highest movie of 2025 so far with a worldwide total just under $650 million.

OTHER NEWS:

They just announced that the 3rd biggest worldwide movie of 2025 (so far) and Warner Bros biggest worldwide movie of 2025 (so far) – “A Minecraft Movie” – will be releasing a sequel set for July 23, 2027.

There also appears to be 2 movies in the “Oceans 11” franchise coming to theaters.  First is the “Oceans” prequel which Margot Robbie and her “Barbie” costar Ryan Gosling we scheduled to be in.  According to news, Ryan Gosling dropped out and Bradley Cooper might be replacing him.  George Clooney recently mentioned that yet another sequel to “Oceans 11” (Oceans 14??) is now greenlit and will probably start shooting sometime during the summer of 2026.  Most of the original stars are scheduled to return (except for a couple who have passed away).

LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR:

RIP to the great Diane Keaton…

The above photo and comment are from Steve Martins Instagram (link).  In 1964 he sort of worked with Diane Keaton on a stage play.  27 years later they costarred in “Father of the Bride”.  I wonder if she remebered him.  Looks like he remebered her.
