Hello everyone,

BOX OFFICE: As expected, Taylor Swifts movie “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” led the domestic box office with $34 million.  “One Battle After Another” sunk about 50% on its send weekend to make $11 million.  “The Smashing Machine” starring Dwayne Johnson in one of his first dramatic roles failed at the box office only making $6 million.  That’s the lowest domestic opening weekend ever for the wrestler turned actor.

Overall, the total domestic box office went up about 10% to $81 million.

WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: “One Battle After Another” did better in foreign markets sinking only 22% and making almost $22 million.  That made its worldwide total rise to over $100 million.  “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” made a decent $13 million internationally for a worldwide total of $46 million.

OTHER NEWS:

Amazon Prime recently tried to clean up James Bonds image by modifying all the promo pictures to remove any guns.  After people complained they removed the modified pictures.

Lionsgate – who now owns the distribution rights to several of Quentin Tarantino’s early movies including “Kill Bill” – announced that the FULL “Kill Bill” movie – “Kill Bill The Whole Bloody Affair” – will open in movie theaters on December 5 including select theaters where it will play in 70mm or 35mm film.

There’s a lot of controversy about a new “A.I. actress named “Tilly Norwood“ with a lot of people – including several unions – complaining about “her”.  Although I wouldn’t call her an “actress” yet because reportedly, she doesn’t speak.  They only thing she can do is pose for photos like the one below.

LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR: “Last Week Tonight” last night tonight talked about Presidential libraries and mentioned a certain movie studio that gave Donald Trump millions of dollars for his future library.

He started by saying “The fact is, as things stand right now, someone could walk up to Trump today with a $15 million check, hand it to him while saying, ‘We love the work that you are doing, and hope that you’ll consider helping us out with that little problem that we were discussing earlier’ — and as long as that check said ‘Pay to the order of the Donald J. Trump presidential library foundation,’ it would be completely legal…”

Then the above movie studio logo appeared, and he continued, “…though, don’t worry, what soulless, ethically bankrupt ass-kissing corporation would even think of doing something like that?  Please stay the f–k away from us,” Oliver said bluntly. “You are not my real business daddy, and you never will be!” (he’s referring to the news that Paramount may buy Warner Bros – which owns HBO which his show airs on).  If you scroll to 22 min and 5 sec on the video at this link you can see his comments.
