Hello everyone,
BOX OFFICE: There was only 1 new movie in the domestic top 5 this past weekend. “Nobody 2” opened at #3 with only 9.2 million. The #1 movie was still “Weapons” which played in approx 248 MORE SCREENS this past weekend but still went down approx. 44% to make $24.4 million. “Freakier Friday” also retained the #2 position going down 50% and making $14 million. Only the #1 and #2 movie made more than $10 million domestically this past weekend. “F1” – which reopened in select IMAX screens this past weekend – only went down 7.4% to make $2.7 million barely holding on to the top 10 at #9. It’s domestic total just passed $180 million.
The summer box office has definitely slowed to a crawl. The total domestic box office fell to $90.3 million. That’s down 32% from the previous weekend. It’s first time the total domestic box office was below $100 million since early May.
WORLDWIDE BOX OFFICE: It’s also slowing down internationally. The top at the worldwide box office was “Weapons” with only $18.4 million. That makes its worldwide total approx. $150 million. Worldwide box office for “Jurassic World: Rebirth” has now passed $825 million and the worldwide total for “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning”, “Superman” and “F1” are almost at $600 million. (Mission is at $596 million, Superman is at $594 million, F1 is at $590 million). “The Fantastic Four First Steps” just zoomed past “Captain America Brave New World” to become the biggest Marvel movie release of 2025 with $470 million.
OTHER NEWS:
If you’re looking forward to the “Running Man” reboot, you’ll need to wait a little longer. They just moved it from Nov 7 to Nov 14.
Legendary is talking to the new Paramount/Skydance studio about a worldwide distribution deal.
LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR: They have a screenwriter (Steven Knight) and a director (Denis Villeneuve) and – according to rumor – Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos new wife will be a “Bond Girl” – but the next Bond movie doesn’t have a Bond yet. However, the rumors have continued to swirl about who it will be.

(apparently whoever made the above picture thinks James Bond should be a dark haired man since Daniel Craigs hair has been darkened)
The latest comment is from Helen Mirren. In a new interview while promoting Thursday Murder Club, in which she co-stars alongside former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan, Mirren said a woman as James Bond wouldn’t work. “I’m such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy,” How does that make her a feminist?
